PRODUCT ENGINEER
JOB PURPOSE:

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1. Support the product design and documentation for for automotive products manufactured.
2. Collaborate on product design changes with the Headquarter facility design team based in the U.S.
3. Introduce product design changes within the assembly facility and obtain feedback on feasibility.
4. Collaborate on product structures, bills of material and manufacturing drawings with the Headquarter facility design team based in the U.S.
5. Initiates and manages changes via the Engineering Change Request process.
6. Provide technical information and specifications for components, assemblies and final products.
7. Support interdepartmental teams to evaluate manufacturability of products, improve production efficiency, assess tooling requirements, and estimating labor/material.
8. Provide direct manufacturing support to resolve production problems.
9. Provide support and engineering documentation for technical inquiries from customers.
10. Support in defining and communicating product /component specifications to suppliers for new products or special customer projects.
11. Work with interdepartmental teams to ensure continuous compliance to ISO 9001, TS 16949 and IATF 16949 standards.
12. Understand relevant standards (ISO, NFPA, SAE etc)
13. Observe and practice safety procedures and policies.
14. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Education:

• BS degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

• At least 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Experience in the Heavy Truck or Automotive Industry as an OEM supplier or OEM manufacturer.

Knowledge:

• Proven experience with 3D modeling and design utilizing AutoCAD/Inventor and/or SolidWorks a plus.
• Exposure to ERP
• Basic Understanding of Cryogenic Liquids and their properties.
• Understanding of heat transfer and vacuum insulation.
• Heavy truck, automotive or diesel engine experience as related to fuel delivery and electrical systems a plus.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc a plus
• Fluent knowledge of English

• Excellent Communication skills.
• Highly motivated self-starter and a team player.
• Customer service orientation.

Overview / Responsibilities

• Preparation of Hazardous Area Classification drawings and reports
• Updating of Project Schedules
• Preparing of Project Progress Reports
• Assist Senior PE in technical coordination of projects
• Coordinate disciplines activities, control and forecast work area activities and deliverables against schedule
• Work in coordination with procurement and subcontracting group as well as estimate department
• Organize, contribute and prepare notes of multidiscipline meetings to affect the timely completion of the engineering documents and requisitions

Skills / Qualifications

• Master Degree in industrial engineering (preferred Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering)

A brief overview of what you will be doing here

We are looking for a QA engineer to assess software quality through manual and automated testing. You will be ensuring that product releases meet functional and business requirements. You will be reporting all deviations from expected behavior by opening defects and ensuring they are resolved before product releases are made generally available.
