SUMMARY OF ROLE
By joining us as Resident Field Service Engineer your role will be to support one of our customer based in Ferrara, delivering activities required for maintenance, troubleshooting and incident resolution and on call services to DeltaV DCS/SIS.
You will be responsible for technical support, system upgrade, warranty services, training, small configuration and/or modifications, according to the Emerson standards of safety and quality.
You will become part of our Lifecycle Services team, within the Automation Solutions division,
which helps our customers carry out maintenance, improve reliability and boost performance of
their DeltaV systems.
We typically engage with the latest technologies and products within the DeltaV portfolio, with a
focus on Virtualization, System Upgrades and Cybersecurity enhancements through add-ons such as Backup & Recovery, System Health Monitoring, Patch Management and Endpoint Security
deployments and maintenance.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
bull; Product Knowledge
o keeping up to date with the latest developments and specializing in certain technologies and/or products for which you will be executing services; for example Virtualization, DeltaV Upgrades (physical and virtualised), Backup & Recovery, System Health, Monitoring, Patch Management, Endpoint Security, DeltaV configuration and graphics, SIS, etc.
bull; Customer Support
o Perform tasks for system maintenance and performance assessments.
o Provide technical support to customers. Lead in investigation and responsible for resolution of system related customer complaints and reported problems. Make troubleshooting of the problem, provide and/or recommend solutions to these complaints/problems. Will be in contact with Emerson Tech support group in Manila and USA to have more level customer support.
o Provide remote (phone, internet) technical support assistance for System users of DeltaV DCS.
o Be able and willing to perform on-call shift based services (if applicable) and emergency call-out services to provide customers with fast and efficient services.
o Execute the requested job in the best way to meet customerrsquo;s deadlines and expectations.
o Communicate issues concerning customer satisfaction or customer requests for Emerson support to the responsible person in Service Management or Sales Management.
o Work closely with Long Term Service Agreement Program Manager to meet KPIrsquo;s and overall Control system performance.

o Execute Service tasks in accordance with Service Management Office guidelines and certifications.
o Use effectively Service tools (SMS, Guardian, etc) as well as other internal tools (CRM, INAZ, Clarity, Service Apphellip;).

FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

The Candidate reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, will deal with:
- Critical analysis of the technical specifications of the order and of new product development, as project Technical Leader, with the support of Structural Analysis Team and the specialists of the other Engineering disciplines;

- 5 years experience as a designer of mechanical components and systems, using CAD methodologies gained preferably in companies in the same sector and / or in the automotive, aerospace or railway sector.
- Knowledge of data acquisition systems, development of test, measurement and control applications;
- Knowledge (theoretical and practical) of fluid dynamics and structural analysis methodologies;
