The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Global Sourcing Category Manager CAPEX to support our Global Sourcing teams in the sourcing of capital manufacturing equipment for current and future production projects.
The role balances total cost of ownership (TCO), strategic and tactical delivery. It contributes to the development of the Global Sourcing CAPEX category strategy, objectives, policies and program; managing the sourcing cycle, bringing in breakthrough ideas and best-in-class approaches and co-developing; supporting and implementing all sourcing strategic projects that are held globally.
The Global Sourcing Category Manager CAPEX builds and leverages strong working relationships with our Engineering teams located in multiple regions and manages key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
The Global Sourcing Category Manager CAPEX will be translating global led category strategies to sourcing and actions plan, defining the actions required to successfully deliver the project plan, undertaking category management activities and driving plans to successful execution.
This role will report to our Global Sourcing Director and in parallel be an active sourcing resource supporting other Functions such Engineering, Finance, Production and PMO within the company.
The Responsibilities
Developing & implementing CAPEX category and sourcing best practice strategies within a global environment
Develop, negotiate & performance manage contracts (including Framework Agreements) with strategic CAPEX suppliers
Engaging cross-functionally with various global functions to develop strategic category plans for the development of CAPEX category
Leading the process to select and manage CAPEX suppliers
Tracking performance within each spend CAPEX category and define budgetary impact
Strategically identify and qualify new suppliers, managing the full end-to-end tender process to maximize savings and create value within the function
Liaising with global stakeholders and functions to ensure the consistent expansion of the Global Sourcing CAPEX category
Creating and implementing innovative ideas for the long and short-term development of the Global Sourcing Capex category
The Competences
3-5 years of experience in a Global Sourcing role for CAPEX categories
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Scientific subject
Strong functional sourcing experience managing global led CAPEX categories across multiple geographies, including negotiation of contracts across technical, commercial and legal
Proven industry experience in a Project Manager / Engineering Project Manager / Programme Manager role, managing CAPEX projects, desirably within the Food Manufacturing or Food Ingredients industries
Involvement in managing large spends across CAPEX category with a proven track record of generating savings and creating value in a function
Experience of working on multiple projects at the same time
Ability to build effective relationships with 3rd parties external to the company, such as service providers and goods suppliers desirable
Experience working with Engineering and Maintenance teams to drive cost savings and improve Plant uptime
Experience strategically sourcing new suppliers and managing the full end-to-end tender process
Excellent analytical and qualitative skills
Knowledge of FIDIC model service agreement is a must
Knowledge and practical experience working within a GMP Good Manufacturing Practice environment
Excellent Excel and other MS Office skills required
Experience with ERP or MRP purchasing systems preferred
Excellent English verbal and written, knowledge of a second language will be a plus
