SUMMARY OF ROLE


The Field Service Technician will be executing in-house repairs, maintenance at customerrsquo;s sites; start up, diagnostic, on call service and preparation before site installation of system gas analyzer (CO,Co2,O2,gascromatograph,etc) and system liquid analyzer (ph., Conductivity, chlorine, etc.)
The Field Service engineer is responsible for executing the scheduled work according to the Emerson standards of safety and quality.



PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


bull; Troubleshooting & repairs.
bull; Installation and startup.
bull; Calibration.
bull; Provide technical support to customers.
bull; Configuring.
bull; Be able and willing to perform emergency call-out services to provide customers with fast and efficient services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


bull; Technical diploma, or higher, in an engineering discipline, such as Analytical measurement, mechanical / electrical, computer science, or control systems
bull; Relevant experience a from process industry such as Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Refineries.
bull; Good communications skills, fluent Italian and good English.
bull; Knowledge and experience on Instrumentation for industrial plant

By joining us as a Field Service Engineer Process Systems and Solutionsyou will be the face of Emerson in front of our key customers within the Italian national territory.


Reporting to the Service Engineer Coordinator, you will be performing activities required for the installation, commissioning, start-up, warranty service, training and technical support of Emerson Digital Automation Systems (DCS as DeltaV) at customer sites, while following Emersonsrsquo; standards of safety and quality.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Perform tasks for system maintenance and performance assessments.
  • Provide technical support to customers. Lead in investigation and responsible for resolution of system related customer complaints and reported problems. Make troubleshooting of the problem, provide and/or recommend solutions to these complaints/problems. Will be in contact with Emerson Tech support group in Manila and USA to have more level customer support.
  • Provide remote (phone, modem and internet) technical support assistance for System users of DeltaV DCS; be ready to be on call on shift basis.
  • Perform system acceptance tests, installation, commissioning, training, fault analysis and rectification work at customer sites and installations.
  • Assist in design studies, H/W & S/W upgrades & modifications.
  • Provide technical support to Sales and proposal team and bring opportunities (CRM LEADs) identified during service job.
  • Configuring/application management and support.
  • Execute Control system maintenance tasks and other works (repairs, installations, training etc.) in accordance with SMO guidelines and certifications.
  • Be able and willing to perform emergency call-out services to provide customers with fast and efficient services.

    Relevant experience a from process industry such as Biotechnology / Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Refineries.
  • Strong experience of the DCS application (knowledge of DeltaV DCS is an advantage).
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills, along with problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure;
    Fluency in English and Italian – written and spoken.
  • Knowledge on Information technology (IT) & Networking, Cyber Security, cloud computing, virtualisation, programming software, Operating Systems, Active Directory, Patch Management, Backup and Recovery is an advantage.
  • Technical competencies (electrical/electronic, power), Field Buses knowledge (Modbus, Fieldbus, Profibus, etc.).
  • Extensive travelling to customer site within country as well as abroad (offshore if applicable).
  • Availability to work non-office hours and perform call-out services, if applicable.
  • Driving license for car.

How will you make an impact?
This senior role is a management position providing leadership at the Milan location of our Microbiology Division ensuring that local legal requirements are met, local activities are co-ordinated and company objectives achieved.
Ensuring Customer satisfaction and that Company metrics are achieved through the country order entry, warehousing, planning, budgeting and forecasting process. Included in the role is managing, mentoring and coaching of the onsite office teams.
The teams on site cover Customer Service, Pricing & Tenders and Supply Chain, handling offer preparation, order management and supply of our product range from a local warehouse site. The position reports to the Customer Service Director Europe, with a dotted line to the Global Distribution Director.
What will you do?

  • Manage the activity of the Customer Service, Pricing & Tenders and Supply Chain teams to ensure adherence to processes and procedures from Order receipt to Delivery creation and achieve customer satisfaction
  • Monitor customer returns and claims, ensuring root cause analysis of issues and corrective action to prevent re-occurrence
  • Support the Sales and Sales Operations teams in the preparation, of commercial offers and the management of contracts through their lifetime
  • Ensure any monthly management reporting is completed & submitted on time
  • Cross working with the Italy HR and IT teams to meet the needs of the employees and organization
  • Work with the European Supply Chain team to optimize inventory holdings & operational costs
  • Overseeing the function that orders products from all MBD sites and third parties on a weekly basis to meet stock and customer needs
  • Continuously develop attitudes, knowledge and skills within the Office team to meet objectives through the PMD process, identifying individual development needs of the team and sourcing appropriate training
  • Point of contact for cross divisional projects and work with appropriate stakeholders to ensure correct people are involved
  • Efficient and effective management of warehousing activities ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Ensure products are stored within the environmental guidelines set by MBDs Quality Assurance department & Vendor guidelines
  • Ensuring adherence to the Global Trade Compliance Management System (GTCMS). Site coordinator and/or back-up will manage and is responsible for, but not limited to: import/export activity for their site Harmonized Tariff classifications, screening, valuation, dual-use, broker and forwarder management, and promoting awareness of, and compliance with, Trade laws and regulations as well as Thermo Fisher policies.

How will you get here?
Minimum Requirements / Qualification
  • University degree
  • School certificates or higher demonstrating good written and numerical skills
  • Significant management or supervisory level, ideally in a related industry or fast moving consumer goods (FMCG)
  • 5 years experience minimum as a Supervisor/Manager
  • Experience of commercial contract management and preparation
  • Proven ability to manage inventory and performance metrics to annual targets
  • The ability to travel within the allocated sales region and also to attend regional, national or international meetings
  • Good computer skills in SAP and MS Office products (strong Excel)
  • Knowledge in Microbiology would be an advantage

SUMMARY OF ROLE


The Field Service Technician will be executing in-house repairs, maintenance at customerrsquo;s sites; start up, diagnostic, on call service and preparation before site installation of system gas analyzer (CO,Co2,O2,gascromatograph,etc) and system liquid analyzer (ph., Conductivity, chlorine, etc.)
The Field Service engineer is responsible for executing the scheduled work according to the Emerson standards of safety and quality.

bull; Provide technical support to customers.
bull; Configuring.
bull; Be able and willing to perform emergency call-out services to provide customers with fast and efficient services.

bull; Keep workshop/workplace(s) tidy, in order and representative.
bull; Communicate issues concerning customer satisfaction or customer requests for Emerson support to the team coordinator.
bull; Tutoring customer training.
bull; Execute all work (all repairs, installations, training etc.) in accordance with guidelines.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


bull; Technical diploma, or higher, in an engineering discipline, such as Analytical measurement, mechanical / electrical, computer science, or control systems
bull; Relevant experience a from process industry such as Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Refineries.
bull; Good communications skills, fluent Italian and good English.
bull; Knowledge and experience on Instrumentation for industrial plant
